INSTALLATION SUPPLIES

MetalMax sells fasteners, underlayment, sealants, tapes, closures, & roof boots that are easy to use and are designed specifically to attach, seal, or insulate metal roofing and siding to create a weathertight structure.  Underlayment is a water-resistant barrier material that is installed directly onto your roof deck, underneath the metal panels.  Fasteners and Sealants are available in colors to blend with your roofing and siding panels.  We also offer permanent touch-up paint pens to fix panel scratches and nicks.

color matching fastenersOur Fasteners are designed specifically to attach metal roof and sidewall panels used in pre-engineered metal building applications. All fasteners come standard with an enhanced corrosion resistant coating. 36 standard colors are available.

  • Exceptional corrosion and weather resistance
  • Conventionally electroplated and painted fasteners will normally resist the corrosion effects of Kesternich testing for 15-20 cycles.
  • Powder-coated finish outperforms the conventional dip-spin applied wet-coatings.
  • Powder is formulated to provide color retention, plus chalk and fade resistance expected of finished building panels.
  • Excellent film hardness. Our powder coated fasteners resist scratches and damage during shipping better than conventionally applied wet paints. The overall toughness and heavier coating thickness of the powder finish provides excellent resistance to the abuses of normal installation.

profile closuresFoam closure strips for metal roofing are vital for a metal roof’s overall performance. Foam closure strips are dense foam rubber strips used to seal metal panels in place. Typically, the high part of metal panels produces waves that leave gaps between the deck. The foam closure strips fill in the spaces between the roof deck and the higher, wavy peak of the metal panel to prevent rain from entering this area.

Other areas of the metal roofing system, including eaves, ridges, peaks, flashing, and guttering boxes may also require foam closure strips. This strip is generally 1” thick and 1” – 2′′ wide and can be cut to fit any type of metal roofing panel. Closures are available in numerous sizes and shapes which can be used on both sides of metal roofing panels.

single bubble insulationSINGLE BUBBLE INSULATION

Single bubble insulation offers a long-lasting barrier to block moisture and air vapor transfer and helps in stopping condensation. The cooling break provided with air bubbles keeps warm, humid air from escaping, entrapping the cold air at the opposite side. The trapped air within the bubbles provides insulation that helps keep warm air inside and prevents unwanted cold from reaching your enclosed space.

bubble insulationDOUBLE BUBBLE INSULATION

Double Bubble Insulation is a reliable, long-lasting vapor barrier which comes 8-mm thick and consists of two layers of air bubbles laminated between aluminum foil and a white polyethylene film. Double Bubble Insulation reduces condensation, air infiltration, and energy costs. It also reduces inside heat gains and provides an excellent R-value while preventing condensation.

vinyl back insulationVINYL BACK INSULATION

Our vinyl back, or fiberglass, insulation is a resilient, flexible fiberglass blanket laminated to a high-quality vapor retarder facing. It is the most common and cost-effective solution used for insulating pre-engineered metal buildings for roofing and siding.

pop rivetsOur open-ended, pop rivets are designed to attach 2 thin pieces of metal for a low-profile appearance. Applications include metal roofing ridge-caps, roof gutters and downspouts.

  • 304 Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, & Aluminum are available.
  • Painted #43 Stainless are available to match most architectural panel colors.
  • Rivets come in bags of 100 pieces.

Pipe boots, or roof boots, are flashings that go around the bottom of pipes coming out of roofs to ensure the metal roofing system is weathertight. To avoid leaks, building damage, and unnecessary roofing expenses, pipe boots are highly encouraged to guarantee leak-free roof penetration.

Metal roofing sealants provide additional defense against water intrusions and can often be used to repair or replace leaking roofs. Sealants come in the form of pressure tubes or cartridges used with a caulking gun. The tubes are inserted in the device which aids in the uniform distribution of the sealant onto the metal roofing system. We offer commercial gun-grade roofing adhesives/sealants in over 225 standard colors, including black, white, and clear.

BUTYL TAPE butyl tape

This highly elastic butyl tape has excellent surface tack specifically designed for sealing metal roof panel joints and Standing Seam Roof (SSR) endlaps. Its superior surface tack allows it to adhere to metal substrates that are contaminated with light roll forming oil without prewiping the surface. It has excellent adhesion and compressibility to cold substrates and is designed to seal and prevent the entry of dust, air, and moisture to produce a weathertight seal in metal building details.

EXPANDING FOAM TAPE expanding foam tape

MetalMax’s metal roof and building sealants are self-adhering tape seals made from resilient, open-cell polyurethane foam impregnated with a water-based acrylic-modified asphalt emulsion (AST Hi-Acrylic) or a water-based, acrylic impregnation (MST). They replace and outperform liquid sealants, butyl-tape sealants, and closed-cell closures.

INSULATION TAPE insulation tape

Our insulation tapes are used to seal and seam insulation used in metal commercial buildings. They are coated with a high-performance cold weather acrylic adhesive offering a superior quick stick. They also provide a strong bond and great performance at low temperatures. Depending on the type of insulation used, we offer a variety of insulation tapes to accommodate your project.

  • AYR-FOIL: White Polyethylene Adhesive Tape – 7 mil / 175 microns – 2” x 180’
  • AYR-FOIL: Aluminum Adhesive Tape – 2 mil / 50 microns – 2” X 150’
  • ECHO: All Weather WMP-VR-R Plus Facing Tape – Mold Resistant – 3 in X 50 yd
  • ECHO: All Weather Double Coated Polyester Tape – 1.5 in X 60 yd

touch up paint penFor any small scratches or nicks to your metal roofing or siding panels, use our touch up paint pens as a go-to repair solution. These touch up paint pens are fast, easy, permanent and stay protected from UV rays the same as its original factory applied paint finishing. MetalMax touch up pens are also conveniently available in the metal panel color options below.

PEEL & STICK UNDERLAYMENT peel and stick underlayment

Our Peel and Stick Roof Underlayment is a modified rubberized asphalt underlayment with a tough, rugged surface and a self-sealing lap system. It is an advanced, slip resistant, synthetic polymer surfaced, roofing underlayment that is designed for 2:12 or greater sloped roof applications subject to the effects of ice damming and wind driven rain. It can be used under many types of roofing materials including metal, tile, shakes, slate, and both asphalt and synthetic shingles.

SYNTHETIC UNDERLAYMENT synthetic underlayment

Our synthetic underlayment is a highly engineered, woven synthetic material that offers a reliable secondary layer of protection under all types of primary sloped roofing. Unlike felt, its recyclable polyolefin construction doesn’t expand or contract and is inert to mold and mildew growth. It is 100% synthetic and is unaffected by water.

Unlike oil saturated felts, our synthetic underlayment does not dry out, leach oils in the heat, nor does it become stiff, difficult to roll or crack in the cold. This type of underlayment is engineered to lay flat and will not buckle or wrinkle when exposed to temperature and moisture fluctuations on the roof surface.
